Experienced gardeners are required to work in a team regularly maintaining private gardens and commercial green spaces, mostly located in Fife area. You will have to work at many different addresses every day and will be asked to use company's car for moving between them. You will also be required to use various hand and power tools.
Duties
Tasks will vary on a daily basis as determined by the Manager and will include:
- Soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, seed sowing, bed preparation and planting
- Lawn maintenance and cultivation
- The use and maintenance of hand tools and basic light machinery and plant
- The use of cylinder and rotary mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers etc...
- Adjustments of mower height and quality of cut, etc. Oil level checks and check for damage to any mower
- To respond to emergencies and assist other departments i.e. landscapers as directed by Manager
- To be aware of Health and Safety requirements noting that all duties must be carried out to comply with current Health & Safety at Work legislation
- To ensure all equipment, machinery and buildings are secure
- To keep, the mess rooms, tool sheds, workshop and staff toilets clean and tidy
- To keep vans, tools and equipment in clean condition and ready to use
- To be aware of and report any security risks posed within the business
- To apply chemicals where appropriate
- To undergo training as required
- To keep the yard, driveway and car park belonging to the business clear and free from litter at all times
- To carry out gritting, salt spreading, snow cleaning, as necessary.
- You may also be required to speak to clients.

Experienced landscapers are required to work in a team carrying out landscaping projects in private gardens. You will have to work at many different addresses and will be asked to use company's car for moving between them. You will also be required to use various hand and power tools.
Duties
Tasks will vary on a daily basis as determined by the Manager and will include:
- Discussing and developing designs with clients, understanding the client's vision,
- Constructing fences, walls and decking, and laying paving/concrete and turfing,
- Providing advice on garden maintenance and upkeep,
- Installing lighting, garden ornaments and furniture,
- Selecting seeds, plants, trees and bulbs and planting these; treating soil,
- Purchasing materials and hiring equipment,
- Carrying out necessary excavation, using suitable machinery, for bigger construction jobs, or sub-contracting this type of work as required.
- The use and maintenance of hand tools and basic light machinery and plant.
- To respond to emergencies and assist other departments i.e. gardeners as directed by Manager.

ADDENDUM TO PARTICULARS OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
(Full Particulars of Terms of Employment will be issued on appointment)
Hours of work:
Hours of work are based on a 40 week (5 days) but with hours annualised to reflect the seasonal nature of the job. It is possible that longer working hours will be necessary during the spring and summer months balanced by reduced hours in the winter. There is a 60 minute, unpaid lunch break.
Subject to the above, normal hours are regarded as 7.30 am - 17.30 pm.
Due to the nature of the position, flexibility will be required throughout the year and weekend cover will need to be included on occasions.
Salary:
According to experience and qualifications. Exceeds national minimum.
Holidays:
You will be entitled to 28 days holiday per year including bank holidays (calculated pro rata for the first 12 months).
Probationary period:
Three months
Notice period:
One week during probation, 2 weeks thereafter.
